Delta of Scandinavia is a destination management company working with travel advisors and tour operators across the Nordic region and Iceland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through www.delta-scandinavia.com and when you contact us through the website.

Delta also handles traveler information provided to us by travel advisors and tour operators in the course of arranging travel arrangements. That processing is governed by our agreements with those partners rather than by this policy. If you are a traveler and would like to know how your information is handled, please contact the advisor or operator who made your booking.

What we collect and why

Website analytics. If you consent to statistics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used, such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and roughly where in the world they are. This helps us improve the site. The data includes an online identifier, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, and information about your device and browser. We do not use it to identify you personally.

We also record when a visitor clicks an email address or a telephone number on the site. This tells us how often people choose to get in touch and does not tell us who they are.

When you contact us. If you email or call us, we process the information you choose to share, such as your name, company, contact details, and the content of your message. We use it to respond to you and to manage the business relationship. We keep this correspondence for as long as it remains relevant to our working relationship.

Essential website operation. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and for your cookie preferences to be remembered. These are set without consent because the site cannot work properly without them.

Legal bases

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, we rely on the following:

• Consent for analytics cookies and for marketing emails. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests for responding to business enquiries, maintaining relationships with our trade partners, and keeping the website secure.
• Contract where processing is necessary to prepare or perform an agreement with you or your company.
• Legal obligation where Danish law requires us to retain records, for example under the Bookkeeping Act.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected.

• Analytics data: 14 months from the visit
• Business correspondence: for the duration of the relationship

Your rights

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• have inaccurate data corrected
• have your data erased in certain circumstances
• object to or restrict our processing
• receive your data in a portable format where processing is based on consent or contract
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before you withdrew it
